The Coordinator of Mobilization will provide support to Save the Children Action Network (SCAN)’s Mobilization Team. Based in Washington, DC, he/she will work with the Senior Director of Mobilization, Mobilization Director, State Director, and mobilization staff across the country to ensure strong coordination between the state and federal campaigns.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Support the execution of federal, state and local mobilization campaigns. (50%)
  • Help develop materials, fact sheets and tools for advocacy campaigns
  • Work with mobilization staff and volunteers to develop content for our blog and social media
  • Maintain inventory of campaign promotional materials and swag for advocacy events and state offices
  • Help research prospective partners and advocates in key congressional districts
  • As needed, help with data entry and support field advocacy events and activities
  • Support annual Advocacy Summit planning and execution. (30%)
    • Track key dates and deadlines for each planning committee; record and distribute action items.
    • Support all logistical elements of the event, including transportation, materials, décor, audio visual, staffing, etc.
    • Assist the Associate Director of Mobilization & Leader Training with answering Summit-related inquires and requests throughout the planning process.
    • Provide on-site event support, including acting as a point person for internal staff, speakers and volunteers.
  • Provide administrative support to Mobilization Team. (20%)
    • Schedule meetings, take minutes, and track action items for team meetings.
    • Assist with monthly and quarterly reporting.
    • Manage SCAN intern.
    • Serve as finance point-person for Mobilization Team. Properly code and submit invoices and expense reports.
    • Support onboarding process and provide technical assistance as needed for new staff.
    • Help maintain administrative functions for field offices, including managing contracted offices spaces, shipping, and printing accounts
    • Support online donors’ needs, such as mailing premiums and answering questions related to their donations.
    • Provide other support as support as requested.
Educational Background: 
High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Technical/Vocational degree preferred.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in an office environment required, preferably some working with a political campaign
  • Highly professional, motivated, energetic, and well organized
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize a number of ongoing projects
  • Proven ability to comprehend and manage complex assignments;
  • Excellent communications skills,
  • Strong writing skills;
  • Team player in fast-paced environment;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least one election cycle field experience, whether on a political campaign or working an issue-advocacy campaign preferred.
  • Knowledge about developing and executing integrated online organizing, field based events, and grassroots recruitment for advocacy campaig
  • Event Planning Experience
  • Working understanding of legislative and electoral process.
