The Constituent Events Manager plays a key leadership role in achieving budgetary and strategic goals as part of the Alzheimers Association West Texas Chapter strategic plan.  They are responsible for significant growth through the development, management and execution of the Longest Day and Walk to End Alzheimers recruitment and fundraising efforts to ensure the growth of local mass market events.  They are accountable for the achievement of income performance targets through the effective leadership, engagement, empowerment, and mobilization of volunteers, committees and Team Task Forces.

They are also responsible for revenue generation through collaboratively working with and mentoring volunteers.  Key elements of this position will focus on recruiting, training and managing high level volunteer planning committees to lead the events in the El Paso community.  They will also cultivate, develop and retain veteran and new corporate partnerships.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Engage, train and manage relationships with community based leadership volunteers to develop and execute a local recruitment, cultivation and retention plan for new and existing Longest Day and Walk to End Alzheimers teams in the El Paso region
  • Identify and secure new sponsors/community partners through cultivation and solicitation
  • Plan and execute Walk to End Alzheimers within the region to include event team captain/walker recruitment and retention
  • Complete activities effectively and efficiently to meet target deadlines for successful event execution
  • Ensure ongoing mission education for volunteer committees and Team Task Force members
  • Implement best practices for leadership development, increased participation and event revenue growth; drives creativity and innovation at the community/chapter level. 
  • Develop and demonstrate skills in community organization, relationship building, talent identification and leadership development
  • Identify trends and best practices; measures impact of specific actions; identifies and addresses issues as they arise and adjusts plans as required
  • Utilize available resources to maximize event results
  • Participate in webinars, conference calls and/or trainings offered by the Association for The Longest Day and Walk to End Alzheimers
  • Ensure compliance with Alzheimers Association policies and procedures
  • Provide support to other local Constituent and Relationship Events as necessary
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree; Marketing or Communications preferred
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum 3 years experience in developing and executing event strategies
  • Minimum 3 years experience with event production and management, volunteer development and management, public relations, donor cultivation and relations, corporate sponsor cultivation and relations
  • Ability and willingness to make frequent trips within Chapter territory by auto mobile
  • Knowledge of Team Approach, Convio and/or other databases preferred, Microsoft Suite and Google Suite: Mail, Calendar, Docs and Hangouts
  • Demonstrated project and time management skills to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines with strong planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with attention to detail
  • Demonstrated expertise recruiting and managing volunteers preferred
  • Ability and willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed
  • Possess valid driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle, and proof of insurance
