Under the overall supervision of the Head of Peace Centre, Project Assistant provides operational and administrative assistance to the Peace Centre. He/she assists the Head of Peace centre and team in the daily activities and will be responsible to organize, store and analyze data with attention on security and confidentiality with a strong understanding of databases and data analysis procedure, the post holder ensures that information flows timely and securely to and from the office as well as within.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Support field staff in the timely implementation of activities at the Peace Center: Work collaboratively with the Head of Peace Center and team to maximize productivity and support them in their daily activities regarding logistics and administrative tasks (20%)
- Assist in Peace Center and resources management including logistics, overseeing contractual procedures and compliance, tracking project expenditure aiming meeting the needs of Peace Center (20%)
- Carry out administrative duties by collecting data, sorting, filing and sending out project files to the right personnel, workers, and stakeholders (20%)
- Combine and rearrange data from source documents where required. Enter data from source documents into prescribed computer database, files and forms. Transcribe information into required electronic format. Check completed work for accuracy (20%)
- Liaise with MEAL team to monitor the implementation of activities to ensure they are completed according to plan and in a timely and effective manner, giving particular attention to quality aspects. Assist with the preparation of status and progress reports by working with MEAL and providing information such as financial and other inputs when required. (10%)
- Respond to requests for information and access relevant files from project coordinator and MEAL officer. (5%)
- Any other duty as it is required (5%)
Educational Background:
. Technical diploma or university degree preferably in social work or community development fields
Skills/Experience:
- Familiar with core principles of Children’s Rights, Child Protection, Participation, and ‘Do No Harm.’
- Good command of Arabic and English
- Computer literate mainly with MSOffice software package Good communication skills and ability to build collaborative relationships
- Ability to deal with children and people from different cultures and backgrounds
- Ability to foster a good team spirit
