The Advocacy Research Officer is responsible for the coordination and completion of all research projects within the technical teams of World Vision in Cambodia. Under the supervision of the Senior Policy Officer, the Research Officer will collaborate and support all Technical Leaders to develop and conduct research programs that contribute to the organizations strategy objectives
The research will be conducted with high regard for partnership, evidence development, quality, and innovative methodologies. Additionally, the Research Officer will ensure all research is strategically aligned, has a high degree of quality and rigour, and has applications for advocacy (including accessibility for decision makers).
The position will not always conduct research themselves, but must be expert in research methodologies and practices, including working with research consultants and other civil society actors, to coordinate and complete research projects, and work within the Advocacy department to turn research findings into resources for policy influence and other advocacy activities.
- Manage and deliver on WV’s research agenda
- Coordinate externally with partners and consultants to produce high quality research
- Link research findings to WV’s strategic outcomes, policy analysis, grant applications and organisational learning.
- Efficiently manage WV’s research budget.
- Formal training in research methodologies (and data management software, such as SPSS), policy analysis, report writing.
- Excellent understanding of advocacy and development issues in Cambodia, especially nutrition, education, child protection and DRR.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Khmer.
- Thorough knowledge of research methodologies and research technologies.
- Strong budget management skills
- Five years’ professional experience in research, evaluations, advocacy and policy, report writing.
- Demonstrated experience in providing high level advice and recommendations to senior leaders and decision makers.
- Demonstrated experience in successful project management, management of consultants, and developing strong relationships with external stakeholders.
- Experience in coalition building and ability to rally coalitions and networks to take positions on specific policy issues.
Salary & Benefit Package: 749 USD – 937 USD per month, dependent on your experience and qualifications
