The Alzheimer's Association is seeking a full time Clinical Systems Manager to work closely with hospital systems and academic researchers. The Clinical Systems Manager will be responsible for engaging and educating hospitals and clinicians about Association services. Duties may include assessing hospital systems and processes, conducting root cause analyses and providing resources for resolutions and other QI methodologies. The work of the Clinical Systems Manager may include forming a learning collaborative to share best practices to improve dementia care and improve referrals to community based dementia care services like those provided by the Association. This position require a strong background in clinical quality improvement and solid knowledge of quality improvement methodologies. In addition this position requires a self starter and someone who can develop new initiatives based on the level and interest of hospital systems and academic researchers.
The function of the Clinical Systems Manager is to advance the Care and Support arm of the Association's mission as well as its research mission of promoting clinical trials recruitment. Under the supervision of the Director of Programs, the Clinical Systems Manger has decision latitude and expertise in developing programs to engage medical and academic research communities. A key function of the Clinical Systems Manager is to encourage development of clinician outreach initiatives, and establish contact with voluntary and private health agencies, medical providers and academic researchers.
Major Duties:
- Leads organizational efforts in engaging clinical and academic research community including developing quality improvement projects
- Utilize professional clinical and quality improvement experience and expertise to guide the work of the Association in developing clinician education, media and outreach strategies targeted to clinician and researcher communities
- Coordinate clinician outreach projects that promote brain health, diagnosis and linkage to the Alzheimer's Association.
- Identify and develop suggestions for provider participant's engagement with the Association which may include developing improvement plans linked to dementia care and assisting providers in developing, implementing, monitoring, and tracking of improvement activities.
- Work directly with hospitals and academic researchers and maintain project-specific timelines and communicate the projected timeline to all other necessary partners.
- Facilitate development of a goal-oriented plan for interim monitoring of process / lead and outcome / lag measures.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals, reports, updates, and summaries for all assigned projects within designated time frames.
- Participate in sharing and learning related to clinician engagement and quality improvement initiatives and other similar activities.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in the operations of clinician and research engagement, quality improvement processes and other processes in which hospitals, academic research communities are involved.
- Maintain a working knowledge of other healthcare related initiatives, cooperate and encourage collaboration to share resources, tools and materials whenever possible.
- Assess and evaluate programs, perform research on relevant topics, and revise presentation materials as appropriate
- Develop lectures and training slides sets to groups and/or individuals, as appropriate.
- Lead the development of marketing and promotional goals and strategies targeted to clinician and academic researchers, as appropriate.
- Performs other related duties and projects, as assigned.
- Demonstrated knowledge of continuous quality improvement techniques.
- Experienced with clinical process or performance improvement quality improvement methodologies like Lean, Institute for Healthcare
- Improvement (IHI), Collective Impact
- Familiarity with process mapping and work-flow analysis tools.
- Sound clinical knowledge and familiarity with New York City health care delivery system.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining focus on key goals.
