This position manages population-health partnerships and strategies to reduce the incidence of cancer and decrease cancer mortality by increasing colorectal cancer screening, HPV vaccination, breast and cervical cancer screening, and reducing tobacco use. Oversees account planning for Illinois and delivers strategies that advance mission objectives across a portfolio of population health partners, which include but are not limited to health departments, public and private health insurers, quality improvement organizations, and related professional associations.
- Promotes the adoption and manages the implementation of an aggressive agenda of cancer control policies, practices and programs across population health partners including health departments and other government agencies.
- Supports the Illinois Cancer Partnership (ICP), a broad-based, multi-organizational partnership that develops, implements, and monitors outcomes of the state’s cancer control plan. This position facilitates related roundtables and workgroups that inform the ICP and the state plan.
- Identifies alignments between ACS and partners’ priorities; builds quality improvement initiatives to improve health outcomes (HEDIS, UDS, et al).
- Works with the Senior Director of State Health Systems and other state-based health systems staff to develop shared opportunities, integrate account plans, and implement high-impact, evidence-based systems, policy, and practice changes with partners across the North Central region, includes IL, IN, KY, MI, OH, TN and WV.
- Works with other members of the Cancer Control division (Primary Care, Hospitals, and Mission Delivery) to coordinate partner activity and develop collaborative strategies to achieve multi-departmental goals
- Works with ACS-CAN to develop content and promote legislative efforts among partner organizations and to analyze policy impacts at the local, state, and federal levels
- Collaborates with revenue divisions within ACS, including Community Engagement, Distinguished Partners, Corporate Relations, to maximize mission and revenue opportunities.
- Develops appropriate volunteer engagement and support to advance cancer control priorities.
- Assures compliance with all governmental regulations and organizational policies which impact health initiatives and constituent privacy, e.g., HIPPA.
- Actively demonstrates integrity, collaboration, and stewardship.
- Ability to elevate awareness of cancer as a major health problem across a range of partners and influence partners to adopt cancer control priorities and implement evidence-based strategies.
- Ability to represent the Society effectively and professionally to population health partners, community leaders, and diverse constituencies.
- Is an experienced, strategic project manager, can develop plans, budgets and time lines. Is responsive to changing circumstances and priorities; delivers on commitments.
- Ability to analyze and integrate information from relevant sources and communicate findings to lay audiences.
- Maintains general knowledge of science and evidenced based best practices by monitoring current research and practices, attending trainings, and participating in local, state, and regional meetings.
- Understands insurers, health departments, and state agencies and can work within these and other similarly complex organizations.
- Able to identify potential partners and cultivating relationships and maintain strong market, community, and constituent perspective.
- Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Broad knowledge of the overall structure, programs, and services of the American Cancer Society including policies and procedures.
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Preferred minimum of three years of experience in health care related sales or account management, with a proven background in relationship development.
- Travel, including evening and weekend work required.
