The Director of IT Infrastructure, Security & Operations has a passion for technology and Infrastructure operations, IT Services and Service Management. Has a solid technical background in IT Infrastructure environments. Provides leadership to a team of IT managers, Service Desk manager, Network Architects and Engineers and manage the company’s technology operations.
This role oversees all of the IT Infrastructure, Security and operational functions at Make-A-Wish America across the National office and the Chapters. The role also provides a strong business-facing leadership for planning, developing, and implementing multiple IT initiatives for Make-A-Wish America IT. This role is also responsible for management, strategy and execution of the IT Infra-Ops to keep the IT systems reliable, available, scalable and secure.
- Establish a vision for IT infrastructure, platforms and applications aligned with MAW business strategy.
- Drive the roadmap to streamline, standardize, and strengthen performance, reliability, robustness and scalability across the organization
- Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of business strategies
- Oversee Helpdesk operations at all levels
- Management of vendor and third-party relationships, including service levels, risk assessments, and compliance requirements.
- Supervise IT Operations team to support all offices and enterprise systems, while working closely with management and external vendors
- Prepare financial budgets and presenting proposals for capital and operational expenditures to senior executives
- Research and recommend new products
- Develop reliable metrics for hardware, software and storage while ensuring strategic capacity planning
- In collaboration with IT leadership, develop & implement the IT Department strategic plan including drafting KPIs, monitoring and reporting on the plan's performance.
- Collaborates effectively with all parts of the organization & MAW Chapters
- Performs other related job duties, as assigned.
- 15 + years professional IT experience with progressive growth in responsibility and scope
- Minimum of five years IT management experience
- Proven track record of success at building innovative solutions and driving enterprise-wide adoption
- Strong management and leadership skills
- Successful experience supervising and building high performing teams
- Experience designing and implementing disaster recovery systems and procedures
- Experience implementing and maintaining patching and software deployment systems
- Experience with Storage Area network design, installation, and management
- Demonstrated knowledge of IT and networking hardware and software
- Experience implementing and maintaining proactive monitoring technologies to ensure system update SLAs are met
- Experience and desire to work in a collaborative team environment
- Effective written and verbal communication in conjunction with training skills

- Must be able to supervise and provide direction to staff associated with Information Technology.
