NRDC is seeking an intern to work with the Digital Advocacy & Fundraising team in our New York office. We are looking for candidates who are interested in pursuing a career in the growing online advocacy or fundraising field and who are looking to get in on the ground floor to develop these skills.
(If applicable NRDC seeks candidates who are eligible for academic credit, or outside funding such as law school work-study or postgraduate fellowship funding, to support their externship work. NRDC will work with successful candidates to complete any paperwork necessary to help secure available credit or funding
Areas of Responsibility:
- Managing activist/donor email inbox:
- responding to inquires or forwarding inquires for appropriate response
- collecting activist responses to our action alerts
- updating user records in our database
- Updating and reorganizing department’s Box email archive
- Drafting some email messages to activists and members
- Researching activist events that are appropriate to invite activist and members to
- Handling uploads of new activists to our eCRM from external acquisition sources
- Assisting in other administrative and campaign duties as needed
Skills/Experience:
- Ideal candidates will have some paid or volunteer experience with a non-profit, political candidate or cause
- Demonstrated interest in advocacy issues or social justice issues
- Strong writing and verbal communications skills
- Strong technical skills (MS Office products, image editing tools or some HTML or similar coding skills)
