The Northern Security and Facilities Coordinator provides security and facility management for the three North Florida Health centers for Planned Parenthood of South, East and North Florida under the direction of the Director of Security & Facilities.  Responsible for integrating  the security function into the overall health centeroperations and crisis response in accordance with the agency’s strategic plan, policies and budget. 

Routine travel between three health centers with travel to other sites required. Current Florida driver’s license and documentation of automobile insurance required.  Lifting and moving materials/items less than 50lbs. Using ladders and power tools with occasional work on elevated spaces.  

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Inspect and ensure facility infrastructure and hardware is in compliance and working order
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and minor needed repairs to local facilities’ infrastructure
  • Seek estimates and quotes from vendors to perform licensed work, repairs, and upgrades
  • Coordinate and escort vendor access to specified locations and effectively communicate project requirements
  • Participate in the development of health center security and facility budget
  • Collaborate with affiliate security team to perform security protection services
  • Access opposition monitoring/research for local groups, individuals and events occurring in the service area
  • Audit affiliate compliance with key security policies and the functional capacity of all security equipment at specified locations
  • Ensure affiliate compliance with relevant PPFA accreditation requirements and security incident reporting at specified locations
  • Initiate and maintain relationships with local and federal law enforcement throughout the service area at specified locations
  • Partner with managers to schedule security and facility trainings at specified sites
  • Conduct risk assessments for specified physical locations and for high profile staff as needed, with recommendations for risk mitigation, maintenance or upgrades
  • Maintain crisis communication and emergency response plans current and to incorporate security in the planning of affiliate events, meetings and community interactions
  • Security lead as assigned at local Planned Parenthood sponsored events
  • Other duties as assigned 
Educational Background: 
High School plus coursework or certification in security (CPP, CFE, CIPM, NIMS etc.)
Skills/Experience: 

Key Competencies:

  • Ability to clearly and effectively articulate the security needs of the affiliate with line staff, leadership, law enforcement and emergency responders.
  • Current with trends in security hardware, software and their implementation
  • Inspires calm and confidence in others
  • Approachable with strong relationship-building skills
  • Demonstrated ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Required to respond to security crises immediately, 24/7.
  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience in progressively responsible positions managing organizational security functions, or equivalently complex functional area. Law enforcement or military experience desirable.  LEOSA certification desirable.
