Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is seeking a professional to fill the role of Financial Analyst. This candidate will assist with financial reporting and analysis for HFHI. This position will be based in HFHI's administrative office in Atlanta, Ga.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Manages completion of Habitat for Humanity consolidated financial reporting
  • Performs day to day management of restricted fund accounting, including managing the system setup and performing the monthly reviews to ensure accurate reporting
  • Ensure organizational compliance with coding requirements through presentation at quarterly trainings and education opportunities
  • Perform annual review of the organization’s functional allocation
  • Assist in the management of the Affiliate Accounting Helpdesk, ensuring timely accurate responses and excellent customer service
  • Assist in the management of the external audit, including preparation of GAAP financial statements and prepared by client schedules and documentation
  • Assist associate director of financial reporting in conducting technical accounting research
  • Assist as needed in overall New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) affiliate support, including management of compliance deadlines, recordkeeping, and providing ongoing technical accounting support for affiliates participating in the NMTC program
  • Assist with other financial analysis and reporting projects, as needed
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
Skills/Experience: 
  • 5 years’ experience in finance with emphasis on accounting research and complex financial instrument
  • Highly motivated individual with financial accounting and research experience
  • Ability to apply US GAAP to complicated accounting transactions
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including ability to conduct financial analysis
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem solving ability
  • Strong computer skills, including advanced MS Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint skills
  • Solid organizational, time management, and project management skills
  • Ability to conduct detailed accounting research
  • Ability to learn quickly and work independently as well as being a team player
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service to a wide range of individuals
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise documentation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA or MBA preferred
  • Nonprofit experience
