Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is seeking a Senior Specialist - ReStore Quality Assurance. The Senior Specialist - ReStore Quality Assurance will lead the development and oversight of guidelines that pertain to all aspects of Habitat ReStores. Expanding upon best practices, these guidelines will help to create consistency in operational standards with the goal of increasing the profile and profits of US Habitat ReStores. The regulatory assistance and support provided by this position will impact day-to-day operations, management, growth and branding. The Sr Specialist - ReStore Quality Assurance will be responsible for identifying, reporting, and mitigating program risks to create enterprise-wide transparency. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Responsible for the discernment of new and additional US Habitat ReStore through a formal approval process. By working closely with the rest of the HFHI ReStore support team and other internal HFHI depts., this position will determine which retail operations meet the standards set forth to be a Habitat ReStore
  • Create and maintain a formal tracking and notification process for new and additional Habitat ReStores. This process will be used for reporting and also informing affiliates, other Habitat entities or HFHI depts. of approval status
  • Evaluate applications, business plans and financial pro formas to determine the viability of a proposed ReStore. With the assistance of other HFHI ReStore support staff, provide resources and direction to affiliates as they work through the process of opening a Habitat ReStore 
  • Coordinate the development of program standards and monitoring of basic operational guidelines. When applicable, revise policies and other regulatory guidelines with the assistance of other HFHI ReStore support staff, other HFHI departments and US Council committees 
  • Using the guidelines created by the ReStore support team and other HFHI depts., determine which stores can or cannot use the ReStore brand and identifier
  • Assist affiliates toward Habitat ReStore compliance pertaining to operational, brand, and safety standards. This will also include identifying retail entities operated by Habitat affiliates outside of the established ReStore model or those not recognized by HFHI and guiding them through the compliance process
  • Facilitate difficult decisions and manage conflicts related to established Habitat ReStore standards and guidelines. Work with other HFHI departments and follow a structured escalation path for serious matters to ensure overall affiliate support and stability
  • Determine action steps and assist in planning for affiliates closing Habitat ReStore or other related retail entities
  • Initiate plans for continuing improvements to prevent additional occurrences of risk in future Habitat ReStore enterprises
  • Assist with the creation of resource materials, guidance documents and other learning/promotion opportunities. Ensure that these materials remain current to HFHI standards and relevant to the Habitat ReStore system 
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's Degree
Skills/Experience: 
  • 3-5 years of related work experience
  • Must have worked in the Habitat for Humanity, HFH ReStore community or similar industry for minimum of 3 years
  • Must exhibit strength and appropriate demeanor for decision-making during crisis and conflict 
  • Must have experience with training facilitation and presentation
  • Must have excellent presentation, writing and verbal communication skills

Preferred:

  • Should be an organized, strategic thinker who is attentive to detail and can collaborate effectively 
  • Should demonstrate capability to design and ability to deliver high quality projects on time, and within budget.
  • Should demonstrate ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneoulsy
  • Education focused on economics, business administration, public administration, business development or related field
  • Conflict management and resolution
  • Customer service skills and experience
  • Project Management experience and training beneficial but not required
