The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for the oversight and management of financial, accounting and human resources records and processes. The CFO also develops and maintains professional relationships with banking, legal, insurance and other specialty service providers. This person is accountable to the President and CEO.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Performs or provides oversight for performance of tasks related to processing and maintenance of financial records.
- Conducts analysis of financial data and prepares various financial reports and statements in an efficient and timely manner.
- Leads in the preparation and implementation of, as well as the subsequent control processes of, the fiscal year budget.
- Serves as the affiliate’s primary contact with regard to the annual financial audit and works closely with the auditing team in order to expedite the process.
- Responsible for completion of all compliance reports to all taxing and regulatory authorities including, but not limited to, sales tax returns and payments, preparation of payroll tax deposits, preparation of all payroll tax returns, and other federal, state and local tax returns and registrations.
- Assists in the establishment of professional relationships with insurance providers in order to establish quality insurance protection for the affiliate as well as the staff with regard to employee benefits.
- Interacts with banking organizations with which the affiliate conducts business or desires to establish banking relationships. This may include the establishment of new bank accounts, maintenance of existing accounts, or establishment of credit lines or other financial instruments for the purpose of conducting the financial business of the affiliate.
- Assists the Director of Development and other staff members as is required by providing necessary financial information in the application process for various grants and financial awards.
- Responsible for the management of vendor payables, preparation of vendor and payroll disbursements, supervision of cash reserves, maintenance of all bank accounts and their reconciliations.
- Performs human resource functions and is responsible for the security of all payroll records.
- Handles benefit administration functions.
- Assists the Executive Director, Finance Committee and the Board of Directors with various projects as may be assigned from time to time.
