Sr. Associate Director, Corporate Initiatives

The Sr. Associate Director, Corporate Initiatives will lead sales development efforts to expand The Longest Day Global Team program with special and focused interest on various types of Membership Organizations. The Longest Day is the second signature fundraising event of the Alzheimer's Association.
This position can be based in Chicago, IL or home office based in a major metro market and will report to the Sr. Director, Corporate Initiatives.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Recruitment of membership organizations with national and regional scope for The Longest Day's global team program.
  • Manage fulfillment of organizations commitments and fundraising success
  • Serve as a member of Corporate Initiatives and The Longest Day/Walk To End Alzheimer's teams working cross functionally and providing leadership and recommendations to grow the global team program
  • Deliver global team organization for implementation through communication and training
  • Ongoing interaction to understand program structure and fulfillment
  • Develop global team on-boarding program with counterparts as part of this growing program
  • Work with the Corporate Initiatives and The Longest Day global teams to ensure consistency in training and support to these important revenue partners.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree from a four year accredited institution.
Skills/Experience: 
  • 7+ years of experience in national  corporate recruitment and relationship development in a non-profit environment 
  • Sound understanding of non-profit, business strategies and processes; such as corporate engagement, fundraising events, employee or membership engagement and volunteer support
  • Proven fundraising experience with the skills to partner with companies or organizations on their fundraising success
  • Corporate recruitment experience at a local, regional and national level focused on revenue generation
  • Membership organization team recruitment experience a plus
  • Team player that has the ability to interface with all levels of staff and volunteers. 
  • Effectively multi-task, establish priorities, and work in a fast paced environment. Extremely efficient in time management and can meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Excellent written, oral, and communication skills. (Includes presentation delivery, conveying ideas, and instructing effectively.)
  • Ability to communicate in a friendly and positive manner with staff and volunteers and to provide fundraising guidance in a collaborative, consultative manner.  
  • Ability to think strategically and determine long-term implications of decisions
  • Ability to analyze complex situations and propose solutions which support the Association's mission and vision
  • Ability to build consensus and to work through others in achieving desired results and objectives.
  • Ability to work and make judgments independently and take initiative. Self-starter, requiring little supervision.
  • Ability to travel throughout the US as required. Occasional international travel may be required. Travel requirement is approximately 60%.
  • Must possess valid driver's license, access to reliable vehicle and proof of automobile insurance.
