Reporting to the Director, Corporate and Foundation Relations, the Associate, Corporate and Foundation Relations will provide essential administrative support for all corporate, foundation, and/or government funding. The ideal candidate will exhibit exceptional judgment, is detail-oriented and highly organized, is able to effectively prioritize work within a deadline-driven environment, is an exceptionally strong writer, and is familiar with the grant-proposal process. In addition, this role supports donor engagement and works closely with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator, enjoys working in teams, and builds strong relationships. Donor Engagement Support (40%)
- Support in the planning and execution of a robust funder engagement strategy, including customized opportunities for major corporate partners and their volunteers
- Prepare briefings and collateral materials for meetings with institutional donors and prospects
- Lead the execution of regional funders convenings (i.e., school site visits) and connect regional institutional funders with national engagement opportunities
- Ensure past and upcoming engagements are tracked in Salesforce
Grant Writing & Management Support (30%)
- Support the Director, Corporate and Foundation Relations in developing cases for support
- Lead preparation of required progress and final reports, including compiling necessary information from program and finance staff, drafting narratives, and preparing supporting programmatic and financial information
- Prepare supporting programmatic and financial information required for grant applications/proposals
- Research and analyze relevant data, statistics, and other information
- Manage processing of grant awards: acknowledgements, execution of grant contracts, and monitor grant payment schedules
- Provide project management support, including preparing agendas and tracking action items, for internal grant management meetings
- Track all grant deadlines and the grants management calendar in Salesforce
Prospect and Donor Research (20%)
- Conduct research on new and existing donors to identify motivations and barriers to contributing to our organization and potential levers to deepen their connection to and support of our work
- Ensure strong execution of internal prospect management system to ensure progress on our goal to engage new institutional donors
- Assess corporate, foundation, and government funding opportunities for alignment to our regional vision
Leading Across the Organization (10%)
- Operate with a deep commitment to our core values, including fostering a diverse movement by partnering with people in the communities that may offer differing perspectives such as parents, teachers, and school leaders
- Support broader regional and organizational priorities, including selecting new corps members, supporting staff recruitment, attending regional team meetings, and supporting other functional regional initiatives
- Previous development or relevant work experience required, minimum of 2 years of experience strongly preferred
- Experience in supporting institutional giving (corporate, foundation, and/or government) strongly preferred
- Previous experience working in education and nonprofits strongly preferred
- Previous experience in project/grants management preferred
- Previous experience in administrative support or events planning required

- Willingness to work occasional early mornings, evenings or weekends (for Board meetings, donor engagement events, etc.)
