To assist the Communication team in meeting its ongoing objectives to increase awareness and understanding of our mission; collaborate with partners in development of public-facing campaigns; and build relationships with food banks in order to better communicate consistent messaging and elevate the issue of hunger nationally

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Participate in meetings and support the Communication Team on cross-departmental projects
  • Help design and create communication toolkits for food banks
  • Draft social media content to support communication campaigns and partner initiatives
  • Support creation of internal and external-facing communication materials including press releases, blogs, e-newsletters, flyers and web content
  • Support the team in media outreach and monitoring
  • Research industry trends and stay up-to-date on current events
  • Provide support for Entertainment Relations team, such as conducting industry research and drafting content for Entertainment Council communication materials
Educational Background: 
College junior or senior working toward a degree in a related field. Graduate students are also encouraged to apply. Relevant fields may include: Communication, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, English, etc.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Previous internship or job experience in a related field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Possess understanding of basic principles of public relations
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team
  • Ability to learn quickly and meet deadlines while managing multiple tasks
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented individual with superior written, verbal and organizational skills
  • A strong commitment to public service and volunteerism
