The American Heart Association (AHA) has an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager in our National Center office located in Dallas, TX .
The primary responsibility of the Project Manager is to, under minimum supervision, establish the work priorities for and direct the efforts of personnel (including their consultants or contractors) involved or to be involved on project controlled tasks to provide required achievement of an approved projects objectives. The Project Manager is responsible for five (5) major elements of a project: initiation, planning, executing, controlling, and closing. They also serve as subject matter expert for assigned business units.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Directs the development of initial and revised detailed scope, project plans and forecasts of their associated resource and scheduling requirements.
- Monitors project activities to completion to ensure adherence with project plan and scope.
- Establishes change control procedures to evaluate and communicate scope changes.
- Provides timely information, minimizes issues or obstacles, and facilitates or coordinates appropriate resources.
- Develops project documentation and deliverables in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) project management methodology and ensures audit trails are in place for each project.
- Provides analysis and consultation to determine project requirements and scope.
- Maintains effective communications with supervisor, project sponsor and all facets of the AHA, including Affiliate staff, board members and volunteers, if necessary to ensure project status and issues are known.
- Tracks utilization of project resources and costs to ensure adherence to project budget estimates.
- Identify, establish and maintain excellent business relationships.
- Ensuring projects are completing with the assigned and approved budget, whereby the project manager completes and participates in budget projections for projects.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science, information systems, or equivalent experience or education is required.
Skills/Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience with line of business software concepts, systems and capabilities.
- Experience using Microsoft Project to manage projects.
- Ability to explain complex, technical concepts in simplistic terms.
- Demonstrated competence and success in prior assignments and personal integrity are absolute requirements.
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to prioritize work to balance multiple projects and deadlines.
- Related project management experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of fundraising technology software and solutions.
- Experience with Fundraising Software Technologies and Platforms.
- Excellent end-to-end understanding of business processes, organization, and techniques.
- PMP Certification
