The American Heart Association (AHA) has an excellent opportunity for a Design and Digital Specialist in our SouthWest Affiliate office located in Denver, Colorado. Are you a skilled graphic designer and digital communicator who manages design, social media projects as well as strategies for a communications and marketing department? In conjunction with the Communications Director, you will plan and execute strategies through design, social media and digital platforms.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Designs and produces (or manages vendor), informative collateral, print and digital advertisements and public service announcements/short video for the Colorado markets and the SouthWest Affiliate-wide projects as needed.
- Customizes National AHA resources to create local campaign design templates that could include but are not limited to: brochures, signage, banners, flyers, invitations, programs, newsletters and social media/web graphics. Customization should have strict adherence to AHA Branding Guidelines and Social Media policies and facilitate approval process of all materials prior to printing or publishing.
- Drives social media activities to recruit and engage fans and followers on various digital platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc.) for the Colorado markets.
- Creates and edits social media video and graphics.
- Manages aspects of general communications needs for the Colorado Markets, several of which are below but not limited to:
- The scanning and saving of media clips for later ROI uses.
- Downloads and save photos and video to the network following each.
- Provides creative oversight to ensure collateral produced meet AHA logo/branding guidelines.
- Creates and produces survivor videos to be used at major events and on social media.
- In conjunction with the Communications Director, manages day-of-event run-of-show communications needs, i.e., creation of power point presentations, management of onsite Audio Visual (or manages vendor) and assistance with photography and videography production as needed.
- Creates and produces print, digital and video Return on Investment (ROI) pieces for major event campaigns and high-level sponsors. Plans, organizes and produces marketing and publicity recaps for each major campaign and additional campaigns as requested by Communications Directors.
- In conjunction with the Communications Director, helps develop relationships with social media strategists, bloggers, vloggers and other digital influencers to expand the AHA presence on multiple platforms.
- In conjunction with the Communications Director, helps develop and steward relationships with survivors, volunteers and sponsors to help further communications efforts and the AHA mission.
- Manages and implements other projects as identified by the Communications Director.
Educational Background:
BS/BA required.
Skills/Experience:
- 1-2 years’ proven job-related experience.
- Mastery of Adobe Creative Cloud 2017: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Premiere Pro.
- Mastery of Microsoft Office Programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher.
- Proficiency in the use of social media management tools such as Sprinklr or HootSuite.
- Proficiency in web design and/or online and digital design.
- Proficiency in the use of online web-based design and video editing tools such as Canva and Animoto preferred.
- Additional experience with public relations or communications preferred but not required.
- Spanish preferred but not required.
- Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time.
- Must be 18 years old to apply.
