Secure Community Network

A non-profit 501(c)(3), The Secure Community Network is the official homeland security initiative of The Jewish Federations of North America and the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, charged with serving the North American Jewish community on matters concerning safety, security, and all-hazards preparedness and response. Established in 2004, SCN provides a coordinated approach for community-wide notifications and information-sharing, threat assessment, training, best-practice security consultation, and crisis management, as well as response support to lay leaders, professionals, community members, elected and appointed officials, as well as local, state and federal law enforcement and homeland security officials, with the goal of empowering Jewish communities throughout North America so as to best ensure their safety and security.

Why Work For Us?:

It is a matter of record that Jewish institutions, federations, synagogues, JCCs, camps and day schools have been the target of hatred, extremism, terrorism and violent attack. Where violence and calamity have impacted our community, SCN has been on the ground assisting leaders, their staff and communities with responding, recovering and examining lessons learned to share and provide information and practices to other communities to enhance their preparedness and security posture.

SCN has become a proven, critical partner for Jewish communities across the country and a “community insurance policy” for executives and communities in need, quickly becoming a resource for immediate assistance, information and trusted guidance and expertise. When conflict in the Middle East heats up or the terrorism level rises in the U.S., community leaders rely upon SCN to keep them informed and assist them with taking the necessary measures and precautions to secure their facilities and their people.
