Human Rights Watch is an international human rights monitoring and advocacy organization known for its in-depth investigations, its incisive and timely reporting, its innovative and high-profile advocacy campaigns, and its success in changing the human rights-related policies and practices of influential governments and international institutions.

Programs: 

Human Rights Watch consists of 6 regional research divisions who focus on rights in geographic areas (e.g. the Middle East and North Africa and the Americas) and 12 thematics research divisions who focus on specific thematics areas (e.g. LGBT Rights and Women's Rights). This research is utilized by our Media and Advocacy Department's to inform the public and key advocacy targets in governments, international governmental organizations, and corporations about human rights abuses and to advocate for change in practices and policies. This work is supported by operational and fundraising staff based around the world.
