The California Alliance for Retired Americans (CARA) is a statewide nonprofit organization that unites retired workers and community groups to win social and economic justice, full civil rights, and a better, more secure future for ourselves, our families, and future generations.

Programs:

As an umbrella organization for more than 275 affiliated groups, CARA serves a combined membership of over 950,000 Californians. Its broad-based coalition includes senior centers, tenant associations, retired public employee organizations, trade union retirees, and a variety of other agencies and associations.

Why Work For Us?:

CARA is establishing a powerful grassroots organization that is united and able to come together quickly and energetically to speak out on issues of concern to older adults. CARA is the California affiliate of the 4 million member national organization, the Alliance for Retired Americans (ARA), and is based in Oakland, California.
