The communications and graphics specialist works closely with the director of communications to produce and disseminate web and print products focused on educating policymakers, stakeholders, and the public on Medicaid and CHIP, two of the nation’s major public health coverage programs. The communications and graphics specialist employs web analytics and strong organizational skills to assist with strategic dissemination of MACPAC publications and uses graphic design and written communications to support MACPAC’s broader communications needs.
Major Duties
- prepare web material and publications for public display and distribution;
- troubleshoot preparation of tables, charts and other visual displays;
- assist communications director in website management;
- assist with periodic efforts to refresh and upgrade the MACPAC website;
- develop and report target audience metrics to improve the overall reach of MACPAC’s work;
- manage MACPAC’s audience database; and
- perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills
- graphic design and formatting experience, particularly the WordPress content management system and Adobe InDesign;
- experience implementing and developing processes to support communications activities, including:
- website and branding management
- database management and cleanup
- content distribution (surface and electronic)
- strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time;
- detail-oriented and committed to accuracy;
- excellent writing and editing skills;
- interest in health policy; and
- desire to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate as part of a team with diverse skills.
