Position Summary
Over Zero, a project of the Hopewell Fund, was founded to reduce, prevent, and create long-term societal resilience to violence. We work to help societies resist division and strive towards positive peace. Our key focus is on developing strategic communication-based interventions that can undermine factors (such as Dangerous Speech) that increase division and people’s willingness to accept or participate in group-targeted harm.
One of Over Zero’s core programmatic areas is training and capacity building for civil society groups. These trainings introduce groups to key concepts and approaches for counteracting the impact of Dangerous Speech. The Trainer will be responsible for leading trainings and identifying and coordinating new training opportunities in the United States. They will also conduct a set of regional trainings that incorporate training materials from Dangerous Speech Project (a partner organization) on understanding and identifying Dangerous Speech. The trainer will be responsible for maintaining online training materials and information as well as responding to online questions and inquiries. This position will involve significant travel within the U.S.
