The Director of Development is responsible for the implementation of an ongoing comprehensive development program that will enhance the image of the Springfield Catholic School System, communicate the mission, objectives, and accomplishments of the school system, and obtain the financial and human support of the community.  The Development Director must demonstrate enthusiasm for and understanding of the role of Catholic education.  

Areas of Responsibility: 

Providing leadership for the Development Board and development activities:

a. Work directly with the Development Board executive committee, Development Board and all sub committees including but not limited to the Alumni Association, Reunion committees, Catholic Business Network, etc.,

b. Coordinate and maintain a long range plan for the Development Board,

c. Communicate development issues with the School Board,

d. Serve on standing or special committees as assigned,

e. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Schools.

 

Implementing an ongoing public relations/marketing program that promotes a positive image of the school system and utilizes various publications to generate a desire among constituents to support the system:

a. Conduct recognition events that demonstrate appreciation of those who contribute to the success of the school system,

b. Publish school system magazine (Irish Connections),

c. Manage all system-wide materials, recruitment videos, etc.,

d. Create a system-wide marketing plan,

e. Maintain accurate donor records,

f. Prepare press releases to the local media as directed,

g. Coordinate volunteer efforts for Development activities,

h. Assist with student recruitment activities,

i. Assist alumni with activities and maintain alumni records,

j. Maintain Central Office portion of website and all social media outlets.

 

Implement fund development programs:

a. Coordinate all annual fundraising and “friend-raising” activities including but not limited to Annual Campaign, Emerald Evening, Irish Gold Card sales, Dancing with OUR Stars, Alumni Dinners, etc.,

b. Coordinate capital campaigns and any large fundraising campaigns,

c. Support fundraising activities of parent associations or clubs,

d. Cultivate relationships with individuals, corporations, and foundations that might become major gift donors,

e. Coordinate a planned giving program,

f. Assist with the submission of grant proposals.
