Keystone Symposia which serves as the catalyst for the advancement of biomedical and life sciences, has retained Development Resources inc. to lead its search for a new Director of Individual Giving, who will manage donor relationships to identify potential new supporters, and significantly increase revenue.

 

About the Organization

In 2001, Keystone Symposia organized its first conference outside of the US, hosted in Canada. The attention Keystone Symposia brings around the world helps aid in the distribution of ideas, methods, and advancement in the scientific community. More than half the symposia are held across the American and Canadian West, with the remainder generally in North American cities and various global locations. We have now convened conferences on six continents: Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, North America and South America.

 

About the Role

Keystone Symposia seeks a Director of Individual Giving to serves as a key member for building the network to secure gifts to advance the biomedical and life sciences. The Director will join a development team that supports corporate giving and works to diversify the individual giving program.

 

Reporting to the President and CEO, the Director will be charged with managing the building of a network that secures gifts to advance the biomedical and life sciences mission. The Director will develop and implement a strategic fundraising plan to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual and foundation donors at all giving levels and manage donor relationships. The Director will support Keystone Symposia to meet annual and campaign fundraising goals, with dual responsibilities to manage and grow annual fund.

 

About the Ideal Candidate

 

Desired qualifications for this role include:

 

  1. At least seven years of progressively responsible development experience, including significant experience designing and implementing integrated individual giving programs.
  2. Experience in building a major individual donor program.
  3. Experience with the organization and execution of a capital endowment campaign.
  4. Record of leading strategies that have grown and diversified a donor base.
  5. Ability to design cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for individual giving.
  6. Demonstrated ability to influence and engage diverse audiences and to build long-term relationships.
  7. Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree in a related field is preferred.
