The Regional Director will beresponsible for all aspects of aquatic and safety programming. This includes all programming associated with two indoor pools, steam & sauna, as well as will provide oversight to the daily operations of seasonal pools under a management agreement. This individual will have responsibilities and lead a staff team; including 1 FT Coordinator, lifeguards, swim instructors, coaches and FT Seasonal Managers, in management, recruitment, selection, development and retention. Responsible for program development and management, budget development and fiscal responsibility, as well as be an integral team player for the Bear Levin Studer Family YMCA.
- Directs and supervises program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives. Establishes new program activities and expands program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations. Creates a strong sense of place for the community where people of all backgrounds and cultures feel welcome.
- Serves as a role model to members and Y staff and lives the mission, vision and values of the Y movement at all times.
- Evaluates the collection, monitoring and analysis of data on the effectiveness of member connection and involvement to ensure engagement is occurring on an ongoing basis.
- Develops and directs high-quality member engagement strategies and programs which support branch and association mission and goals.
- Ensures a balanced and sustainable aquatic business model for the department operations.
- Develops, reviews and evaluates strong, diverse staff leaders committed to the YMCA Movement and values-based leadership. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
- Collaborates with—and mutually supports—other branches and programs within the Association.
- Monitors daily pool operations to adhere to all state, local and YMCA health and safety regulations.
- Conducts lifeguarding, swim instruction, First Aid and CPR trainings.
- Develops and monitors program budget to meet fiscal objectives.
- Models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions. Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in timely manner.
- Association leader for annual Corporate Cup Game.
- Current YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor certification or similar required.
- Current Certified Pool Operator preferred
- Current YMCA Lifeguard Instructor, YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor Trainer and ASHI Instructor preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to navigate a variety of communication styles.
- Demonstrated success managing people and leading organizations to strong results.
- A track record of successful data-driven decision making, including calculated risk-taking.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with the technical knowledge to do the job at a high level of accomplishment.
Salary: $42,000.00 - $46,000.00
