The Thrive Coach is responsible for assisting team members with navigating their support, skill building, training, and professional development needs and goals. The Thrive coach will support team members with soft skills, vocational training, continuing education, role coaching, and career advancement in alignment with their career goals. The Thrive Coach will partner with Team Leads and Partnership Stewards to identify education, skills training, work-based training, and other needs and support team members by providing information and resources.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Team Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Liaising with team members concerning team roles, responsibilities, and areas

  • Assisting in the planning and implementation of team projects and initiatives

  • Helping to coordinate and manage project and initiative tasks and deliverables.

  • Analyzing, presenting, and reporting on key performance indicators and progress

  • Coordinating routine and non-routine tasks and activities including, but not limited to, scheduling and documenting meetings, account and vendor management, and operations support including administration and finance support.

  • Performing other duties required to support Team roles and responsibilities. 

  • Upholding Black Cultural Zone’s Mission and Vision

Program Role Summary: 

Role Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Collaborate with team leads, HR, and partnership stewards to identify organization-wide training needs and create training and development plans that align with the organization's overall goals and objectives

  • Identify resources to address the holistic needs of team members including social, emotional, belonging, financial, mental health, physical health, safety, wellness,self-efficacy, public speaking, self- management, self direction and learning, and life skills support

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of employee performance and identify areas for improvement

  • Develop training, personal development, professional development and life skills programs tailored to team, and individual team member needs

  • Provide career navigation support

  • Provide 1:1 coaching sessions to set goals and support team member development and track progress 

  • Facilitate group training sessions and workshops on topics such as leadership, communication, and team-building

  • Provide ongoing support and feedback to team members to ensure they stay on track towards achieving their development goals

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in the field of professional development and integrate them into coaching practices

Skills/Experience: 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in organizational development, education or related field.

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in coaching or training, preferably in a non-profit or start-up setting

  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful training and coaching programs

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with a diverse range of team members

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess employee performance and identify areas for improvement

  • Experience with coaching tools and software is preferred

  • Certification in coaching or a related field is a plus
