Boyden is proud to be partnering with the leadership of American Society for University (ASUH) of Haifa and the University of Haifa to recruit the next Chief Executive Officer for ASUH. American Society for University of Haifa (ASUH)’s mission is to increase awareness and financial support for University of Haifa in Israel and to ensure its continued excellence in teaching, research, and community service.

ASUH cultivates relationships and serves as a vital connection between the University and its friends, supporters, alumni, and partner institutions in the U.S. With a national office in New York City and a regional office in Los Angeles, ASUH currently raises $12-13M per year.

Reporting to and working closely with the Board of Directors and partnering with the University President, Ron Robin and the Board of Governors, the CEO will set the strategic vision for ASUH, advancing the goals of University of Haifa and securing the resources to achieve its expansion and growth objectives.

As the lead U.S. fundraiser, the CEO will be an entrepreneurial and ambitious leader; experienced in engaging with and inspiring philanthropic support from very high-net worth individuals, cultivating and growing a committed board and leading and advancing a high performing team. The CEO must be results-driven and have the ability to initiate and execute strategies to advance the ASUH mission and support University of Haifa.

The next CEO must be inspired and passionate about the University’s mission of fostering academic excellence in an atmosphere of tolerance and multiculturalism. University of Haifa boasts the most diverse student population of any Israeli university, with students from across Israel and all religious backgrounds. At University of Haifa Jews, Arabs, Druze, Haredi and secular students, new immigrants and military and security personnel come together to learn. Driven by unusual collaboration between fields of research and social responsibility, University of Haifa is creating a new learning environment, a stronger community, and a better Israeli society.

Key Qualifications

Candidates may emerge from nonprofit, foundation, government, or industry backgrounds and should possess the following:

  • Five or more years of prior experience as a CEO, executive director, Chief Advancement Officer, or in a related position at a nonprofit, foundation, government, or industry setting.
  • 10+ years of demonstrated fundraising success, including direct solicitations securing major gifts. Must be adept at creating a portfolio of prospects.
  • Proven experience working with and leading a nonprofit Board and working with diverse groups.
  • Experience and success in motivating, recruiting, developing, retaining, and mentoring high-performing, mission-driven teams.
  • Familiarity with Jewish philanthropy within the U.S. is required and experience working with communities including, but not limited to, Jewish, Arab, Persian, former Soviet, and/or Israeli is preferred.
  • Entrepreneurial and self-motivated; must be able to operate at a high level, create strategies and solutions, and make sound decisions in a complex yet collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to advance capital campaign strategies and priorities and to achieve both short- and long-term fundraising outcomes.
  • Bachelor’s Degree is required; advanced degree is preferred.

Position Details

  • Salary Range: $300,000 - $350,000 depending on experience, and generous benefits.
  • Employment Type: Full time, exempt.
  • Reporting to: Board of Directors
