POSITION SUMMARY

The Simons Searchlight Research Coordinator's primary role will be to support a research community of individuals with genetic variants associated with autism spectrum disorder and other neurodevelopmental disorders. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the Research Coordinator will work closely with the clinical data and cohort collections teams in day-to-day management and oversight of communications with all genetic groups in support of initial recruitment, long-term retention and engagement in research. The Research Coordinator will act as the primary point of contact for generating data reports and presentations to the participant community. The Research Coordinator will also support the measures and data quality team in communicating requirements to system developers, as well as support various administrative responsibilities.

Areas of Responsibility: 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist research scientist and product development team in documenting requirements for new measures and registry system features.
  • Collaborate with clinical data team to create and edit visual data summaries for participants.
  • Manage team timelines for data collection, curation and summarization, for data release and family meeting presentations; act as primary contact for the Collections team for these activities.
  • Generate metrics reports to track participant progress, working with the product development team to request modifications.
  • Help identify timely research education materials for the participant community in order to raise awareness of the importance of participating in research. Identify scientific content of interest to participants and aid in translating it into plain language as needed.
  • Assist with communicating with the research community and designing researcher-facing materials.
  • Assist in keeping registry landscape information up to date (other registry platforms, within and outside of the rare disease space).
  • Provide coordination assistance for outreach campaigns and collateral, including processing contracts, tracking deliverables, and managing plain language review activities.
  • Assist in overall Searchlight budget preparation and financial reporting for project.
  • Coordinate central documentation (protocol, manual of operations and Institutional Review Board documentation) and communication structure for project.
  • Help coordinate travel for staff members and external attendees at SF-sponsored meetings, identify venues and prep materials for in-person events. Travel to events as needed.
  • Schedule and provide support for group and individual meetings; complete expense reporting and invoice processing.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned or required.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Science background preferred



Experience

  • At least three years of experience in a project coordination position
  • Experience with data processing and data display preferred
  • Experience with Institutional Review Board or Ethics Board documentation and human subjects research preferred
  • Experience engaging people in person and online

Compensation/Benefits: 
  • The full-time annual compensation range for this position is $61,000 – $70,000, depending on experience. In addition to competitive salaries, the Simons Foundation provides employees with an outstanding benefits package.
