The Moth is seeking a dynamic professional to provide logistical, production and operational support for its growing Community Program partnerships with African and South Asian organizations. The Global Producer will handle the logistical planning and execution for the Moth’s storytelling workshops internationally and will oversee production for live storytelling events showcasing the workshop participants in the U.S. and abroad. The Moth’s Global Community work elevates personal stories in an effort to highlight world issues, dissolve stereotypes, and bridge social divides -- with a particular focus on Women and Girls’ personal stories. This position, as well as the workshops and events associated with it, are currently funded by a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. This is a full-time position, based in The Moth’s headquarters in New York City, and will report directly to the Executive Producer. Full health benefits are included.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Plan and execute the logistic production for 12 or more annual Moth storytelling workshops and  events associated with The Moth’s Global Community Program, including but not limited to: location scouting, venue contract negotiations, scheduling of audio and video crew, arrangement of onsite rehearsals, flights and hotel accommodations for tens of staff and workshop participants, and budget forecasting and tracking of the Program’s expenses.
  • Travel domestically and internationally to produce onsite Moth events and provide logistic support for workshops on the ground (approx 2 weeks every 2 months).
  • Work closely with the Executive Producer and 3-person Community team to communicate effectively with partner contacts regarding the nature, design, and scope of planned and scheduled workshops.
  • Support Executive Producer and community partners in recruitment and selection of workshop participants. Liaise with Moth Community Workshop facilitators.
  • Track the impact of the Global Community workshops by issuing surveys and gathering feedback from the workshop participants.
  • Assist in the preparation of qualitative and statistical reports for Development Directors, Board of Directors, and current funders.
  • Contribute to the design and execution of engagement opportunities for alumni of the Global Community Program.
  • Update promotional and informational media, including web text, printed materials, and slide presentations.
Skills/Experience: 

-A minimum of three years travel production management experience, ideally in theatre, or film.

-Meticulous planner who delights in paying attention to details.

-Able to prioritize and handle logistics in a wide variety of settings with partners from diverse cultural backgrounds.

-Experience working with community organizations in Africa and/or South Asia preferred. Please note which languages you speak.

Note: this is a production position. The Global Producer will not be instructing workshops or designing curriculum
