General Summary:
Seeking qualified applicant (with minimum of B.S./B.A. in psychology, business, finance, or related field, Master’s-level training preferred) to be responsible for all aspects of financial management on the Family Life Project, a longitudinal study of child health and development conducted across ten collaborating institutions. Candidate must be able to handle tasks requiring high-level of attention to detail and efficiently manage information, financial resources, and time. Strong financial, interpersonal, and communication skills are required. The candidate should have no fewer than 2-3 years of prior experience in research administration (preferably federally-funded research). Administrative experience within a university setting is strongly preferred.
Essential Functions:
40% Oversee budgets and administration of multiple large federal grants, helping to ensure compliance with award terms and conditions. Track expenditures, reconcile shadow budgets and provide the Principal Investigator (PI) with cost analyses and budget projections for decision-making purposes. Closely monitor multi-site spending and make recommendations on the allocation of financial resources across collaborating institutions. Process appointments for research staff and monitor appointments for accuracy. Initiate purchasing requests, subject incentive reconciliations, and expense reimbursements.
60% Manage a portfolio of subawards and consultants, including reviewing/editing scopes of work, creating purchase orders, reviewing invoices for accuracy and allowability of costs, monitoring payments, tracking spending and burn rates, and re-budgeting as needed. Monitor/analyze spending and re-budget at the subaward level and across the project as a whole. Work with PI and research personnel to track progress on scopes of work across collaborating institutions and consultants.
- Strong financial, interpersonal and communication skills required along with the ability to handle multiple competing tasks with a high level of attention to detail.
- 2-3 years’ prior experience working in grant administration preferred.
- Ability to work with a team and to efficiently manage information and time.
