OVERVIEW

The Staff Training Coordinator is responsible for analyzing training needs, developing curriculum and delivering courses. The Staff Training Coordinator evaluates the effectiveness of training and individual employee growth. The Training Coordinator is responsible for development of reporting for measurement of training needs and results. This position reports to the Program Director.

Areas of Responsibility: 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate the ordering, purchasing, and inventory of training materials;
  • Ensure training materials and location are organized and prepared prior to all trainings;
  • Develop an annual training calendar and distribute to staff upon approval by the Program Director or designee;
  • Manage and maintain in-house training facilities and equipment;
  • Develop mentorship relationships as approved with employees requiring additional training and coaching services;
  • Design and develop training programs (outsourced and/or in-house);
  • Must utilize additional research methods and remain up-to-date with current trends to enhance professional skills in preparation for trainings;
  • Create a safe and inclusive learning environment of respect and rapport to ensure a positive learning experience for program staff;
  • Use effective instructional strategies (to include but not limited to: appropriate ice breakers, team building activities, project joy) to meet the needs of the program’s staff;
  • Promote positive community relationships in coordination with the Program Director to enhance the resources available to program staff and youth;
  • Attend all organizational required trainings and ensure all required training is conducted and documented for all employees;
  • Create, identify and attend workshops that will enhance professional skills in the area of education, direct supervision, vocational, OSHA, HIPPA, and other topics deemed appropriate by program director or designee;
  • Attend and become a certified instructor for First Aid/CPR, non-violent crisis intervention, verbal judo, the Residential Child and Youth Care Professional Curriculum and other certifications as deemed appropriate by the Program Director or designee;
  • Assist with the submission of monthly reports, funder’s quarterly reports, and end of year reports as necessary;
  • Identify training needs via surveys, feedback, audit and reports and regularly communicate with supervisors and managers to proactively discuss training needs and how to best meet them;
  • Must assist in the evacuation of youth as needed due to inclement weather conditions, natural disasters, or other unforeseen occurrences;
  • Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned;

Educational Background: 
Bachelor's Degree
Skills/Experience: 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Adult Education, Workforce Education, Organizational Training and Development, Human Services or related behavioral science field and two years of experience in human services setting.
  • Excellent public speaking skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required;
  • Exceptional time management and attention to detail
  • Must pass a criminal background, child abuse and neglect registry clearance and other screening requirements including health assessment, Tuberculosis test and drugs test;
  • Support all functions that attain and maintain accreditation and compliance with regulatory agencies;
  • Ability to work under pressure and remain calm and composed under stressful situations;
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, residents, service providers and others;
  • Ability to evaluate/interpret information and make good and independent judgments or decisions; and
  • Demonstrated support of USCRI’s values by exhibiting respect for others, maintenance of confidential information and an appreciation of a multicultural workplace.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

  • Satisfactory Completion of USCRI’s Orientation and Training;
  • Satisfactory completion of annual mandatory training; and
  • Complete additional training as identified by supervisor(s), program director or Human Resources.
