This position is an integral part of the Sheldon Oak Central team. The Associate will be involved at all stages to identify and develop new housing, to assist in the process of refinancing and improving properties in SOC’s portfolio and to support SOC’s work with community stakeholders, residents and funders. Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Associate will support all aspects of project and organizational progress.
Areas of Responsibility:
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the preparation of project financing applications; coordinate materials necessary for submission
- Help manage project files and information
- Support consultants and staff in a variety of project-related tasks, such as those pertaining to zoning, project design, construction, insurance, lease-up and service planning
- Help produce informational materials, maintain web site and social media accounts
- Other tasks as necessary
Educational Background:
College coursework in planning, community development, or business
Skills/Experience:
- Commitment to the organization’s mission of developing housing and improving neighborhoods
- Superior organization, interpersonal and communications skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain organized files and data
- Exhibit better-than-average aptitude with computer hardware and software; specifically Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word & Outlook) and Adobe Pro
- Possess sound writing skills
- Ability to learn quickly and be interested in developing a variety of new skills
- Ability to work autonomously and in a directed team environment
