In addition to our annual selection process, each year, we host two signature events that bring together community leaders, partners, and investors to celebrate our collective impact.

GreenLight Boston seeks an independent, highly organized, and community-focused Program Associate with a passion for equity and serving children and families in the Greater Boston area. This position will report directly to the Associate Director of GreenLight Boston, and work collaboratively with a local team as well as a national network of sites with duties in program, operations, and development. You are a great fit for this role if you take initiative and learn quickly, have a strong love of learning and research, have strong written and oral communication skills, are a self-starter who is comfortable taking initiative, ask questions, quickly learn and analyze new information, and enjoy working on a small team.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Research current, relevant local social issues and priorities facing historically underserved children, youth and families with barriers to social and economic mobility.
  • Perform local landscape analysis including qualitative and quantitative market research, data evaluation and attending meetings with key stakeholders and relevant local leaders with the Associate and Executive Directors.
  • Conduct due diligence of prospective organizations, completing financial and impact assessments to determine readiness and ability to replicate their program model.
  • Record, synthesize and produce reports and briefs based on analysis and key findings.
  • Prepare presentations and supporting materials for all Selection Advisory Council meetings, including agendas, focus area briefs and research/diligence findings.
  • Support with portfolio management by managing internal grant operations  and researching key stakeholders, capacity building resources, and community partnerships for new portfolio organizations. 
  • Lead the planning and execution of bi-annual portfolio gatherings.
  • Execute site data collection and reporting processes, ensuring accurate and timely submission of programmatic information.
  • Implement efficient site operations aligned with national processes and systems.
  • Work across national sites to identify effective internal practices to replicate and implement locally.
  • Support in the execution of signature annual events, showcasing our portfolio organizations and impact.
  • Conduct prospect research on potential donors/investors, including individuals, corporations and foundations.
  • Maintain investor database in Salesforce Operations and Administration, ensure timely donor acknowledgments/payment reminders, and support on grant proposal/report writing as necessary.
  • Support Associate Director with creation and execution of annual communications plan including ongoing maintenance of GreenLight Fund Boston social media (twitter), and quarterly e-newsletters via Mailchimp, GreenLight Fund Boston website pages and contribute to blog postings.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of related experience. 
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to distill key findings across multiple data sets and information.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • High level of creativity and innovative approach to problem solving.
  • Experience with Salesforce and Apricot is a plus, but not required.
Compensation/Benefits: 

The salary for this position is $75,000.

Location

This position is based in Boston and offers flexibility to work from home or hybrid with the expectation of in-person engagements, including meetings, events, and travel.
