Maryland Legal Aid announces an opening for Assistant Director of Human Resources. This position is responsible for assisting the Human Resources Director with the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource function and supervision of staff assigned. A major area of focus is on recruiting, screening and the referral of candidates for available positions. The assistant director provides leadership, support, advocacy and vision to hiring managers and others involved in the hiring process throughout the organization. Position requires considerable skill in interviewing techniques, knowledge of positions and functions, organizational structure, policies and procedures, and federal, state, and local laws regarding employment practices. This position provides management and administrative support to the HR function as needed (e.g., written correspondence, record keeping, file maintenance, and the Human Resource Information System (HRIS). Bachelor’s degree in a related field, SHRM and/or HRCI certification, plus a minimum of seven (7) years HR experience.
