The role of the Chief Technology Architects to develop, maintain and govern the enterprise architecture (EA) across the organization. S/he is also responsible for defining the EA process and architecture review process, and for leading the integration of those processes with related business and IT processes. This position includes authority over Infrastructure Corporate Services and its sourcing strategies (business case driven).
The Chief Architect sets the technology roadmap, develops, manages, and governs the overall architecture of the Corporate Systems and the integration of key areas: technology, application, data and business. S/he will ensure that business requirements are appropriately and sufficiently addressed by technical solutions.
- Manage a team of experienced solution architects who conduct research on latest technologies, review functional requirements an advice on appropriate solutions (build vs. buy), document architectural standards and templates, and perform quality assurance on projects and services to ensure architectural compliance.
- Manage a team of network and telecommunications experts who help define the network architecture and design, implement related projects, and manage service operations globally and in Worldwide Office.
- Manage a team of security experts who help define the security architecture, standards, and policy; perform reviews of security compliance, and advises project teams and the rest of TNC staff to be aware of security risks and possible mitigation actions.
- Develop, maintain, and advocate for an enterprise architecture of the infrastructure and application elements globally and for Worldwide Office. Identify dependencies, identify points of failure, and mitigate critical gaps. Gain organizational commitment for technology roadmaps, and initiates and participates in projects to evaluate technologies and methods for implementing initiatives.
- Design and direct the governance structure and activities associated with ensuring compliance with the enterprise architecture.
- Develop exit strategies to replace aging technology with current new technologies capabilities to ensure long term support, relevance to business direction, and prevent re-engineering of solutions.
- Oversee the implementation of integrated and interoperable systems. Develop and execute test plans to check infrastructure and systems technical performance, report findings, and make recommendations for improvement.
- Oversee the evaluation and selection of hardware and software product standards, as well as the design of standard configurations.
- Identify the organizational resources, structures and cultural change necessary to implement the enterprise architecture and see senior management approval and support of the Organization’s compliance.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the CIO.
- Travel frequently and work long hours and weekends.
- Work environment involves only infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements and minor physical exertion and/or strain
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 7 years of supervisory experience.
- Experience in working with/applying systems technology/project management technologies best practices.
- Experience conceiving and implementing strategic initiatives.
- Experience conceiving, developing, and managing multiple projects and strategic goals.
- Experience managing relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Management experience of a large multidisciplinary department, including planning and delivering budgetary responsibilities.
PREFFERED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPEREINCE
- Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated.
- 15 years of professional experience in Information Technology services preferred with at least two IT disciplines (such as technical architecture, network management, application development, middleware, information analysis, database management or operations).
- Expert knowledge of current and evolving trends in relevant technologies:
- Knowledge of Togaf or other Architecture frameworks.
- Certification in Project Delivery Methods (PMBOX or similar methodologies).
- Certification in (Lean) Six Sigma.
- Understanding of blockchain technology a strong plus.
- Experience in managing large-scale and complex projects within international organization or multi-national companies.
- Experience in implementing an IT Service Continuity initiative under the broader framework of Business Continuity Plan. Expert understanding of best practices in non-profit management.
