As the senior member services director, you will oversee the member services team and manage membership operations with celebration and service.
If hired for this position you will be responsible for staff development, administration, fiscal management, connecting members, creating small groups and assisting with special events. You will provide an impactful staff experience by recruiting and hiring, training and developing, supervising and evaluating employees and volunteers to ensure staff are representative of the mission of the YMCA.
Member Experience:
- Articulate the benefits of a YMCA membership through guided tours of the facility; guided tour training for staff; tour tracking; follow-up; exit interviews.
- Track, analyze and provide useful information and action plans from membership statistics and oversee all functions of the membership database.
- Identify and develop small groups and activities that facilitate member relationships.
- Develop, implement, and manage operating plans to promote program and/or membership growth for the YMCA.
- Execute strategies to ensure that members and/or program participants connect with one another and connect with the YMCA.
- Ensure high quality member-focused programs through innovative program development, evaluations and ongoing training of staff.
- Coordinate special events and activities.
Collaboration:
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations.
- Respond to all member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
Fiscal Management:
- Develop and monitor zero-based budget for department budget and related areas and operate programs within the guidelines of established budget, revenue and expenses.
- Utilize purchase orders, check requests and expense reports per association policies. Use a system to track and monitor ongoing expenses, purchase orders and inventory.
Supervision:
- Hire, train, and supervise staff and volunteers in the membership department.
- Determine staffing needs and schedules to assist existing and prospective members regarding their individual membership needs and to ensure the highest quality service to our members.
- Facilitate communication and provide leadership.
- Review and evaluate staff performance.
- Develop strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
- Provide all departmental staff with professional development.
Financial Development and Philanthropy:
- Meet performance measurement through annual giving, major gifts, and/or endowment by telling the Y story and raising charitable dollars to fulfill our mission.
- Provide leadership and support to the annual fundraising campaign and volunteer committees/boards.
- Assist staff leadership team in reaching campaign goals through recruiting campaigners, making personal asks and supporting branch events.
- Develop relationships with internal/external members to secure and support branch financial development success.
- Provide training and equip staff with tools to better communicate our cause.
- I have three to four years related knowledge and experience that includes supervision, fiscal management, program development, staff and volunteer development.
- I have one to two years experience working with budgets and computers.
- I have a positive attitude and previous experience with diverse populations.
- I have experience supervising and managing people.
- I have demonstrated skills in customer service, public relations, organizational skills, communications, supervision, computer knowledge, and file maintenance.
- I have current Lifeguard, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, First Aid, and Oxygen certifications.
Salary: $44,000.00
