AARP is seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented Email Marketing intern with a can-do attitude, who enjoys a fast-paced environment to execute email campaigns. The intern will collaborate with the email marketing and email technical teams, along with agencies during all stages of an email campaign (from strategy, to development, to build and deploy, to post-deployment analysis).
Areas of Responsibility:
- Support Email Marketing Managers with day-to-day email campaign tasks including, but not limited to:
- Completion of content templates to intake copy, image and URL requirements for the build of weekly and monthly subscription emails;
- Review of HTML proofs to ensure that content is rendering correctly on desktop and mobile;
- Analysis and reporting on email campaign performance on a weekly and monthly basis to internal stakeholders;
- Daily monitoring of trigger/transactional campaign volumes;
- Assist with documentation of processes and recommendations for improvements/optimizations;
- Assist with promoting email success stories across internal communications channels (ICM Voice, InfoNet, 650 Mass Monitors);
- Other projects as assigned by your manager.
Educational Background:
Interns must be currently enrolled in a degreed program at an accredited college or university; maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0; and be considered rising undergraduate juniors or seniors.
Skills/Experience:
- A strong desire to learn along with a professional drive are important to the intern's success in this position;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Excellent project management and Microsoft Office skills, especially PowerPoint and Excel;
- Strong copy editing skills and keen attention to details;
- The ability to multi-task in a high-paced fluid environment while ensuring deliverables are met within assigned deadlines;
- This is not a technical internship, no web programming is required;
- Students who are enrolled in marketing-related degrees, communications and business degrees are encouraged to apply.
- AARP also considers non-traditional interns who are looking to re-enter the workforce or change careers. This may include those who have previously graduated college and are now enrolled in a continuing education program.
