Under the supervision of the Senior Director, the Program Director is primarily responsible for the development, direction, operation and supervision of multiple Before and After School Enrichment (BASE) programs within a region. This includes staffing, programming, budgeting, licensing, quality, developing and maintaining school staff relationships. This position involves program/site development and the execution of association initiatives relating to BASE. This role is heavily weighted on the human relations side, and requires skills to implement quality programs, set standards, supervise staff and maintain solid school and community partnerships. The Program Director may also serve as the Site Director for one-two sites while simultaneously leading the rest of the region.
- Responsible for the oversight of all BASE site locations within a given the service area.
- Directly responsible for the overall effective operation and quality of the BASE program(s) where serving as Site Director.
- Administers budgets within area of assigned responsibility and makes necessary adjustments in a timely fashion.
- Maintains an ongoing line of communication with all stakeholders (Principals, Board of Education, Parents, community agencies) to enhance the sites programming scope and resource base
- Hires, trains, and supervises an effective staff team that meets licensing, Y quality, and Association standards
- Maintains MSDE Office of Child Care licensing standards and maintains records, updates when necessary, and ensures training requirements are met.
- Establishes a network of resources such as community agencies, organizations and service groups to enhance the sites program
- Demonstrates Y core values in all aspects of job performance, and is courteous and professional when dealing with all constituents
- Minimum two years experience in site development and management, staff supervision and programming.
- 3 semester hours/45 clock hours of in School Age Curriculum.
- 3 semester hours/45 clock hours in Growth and Development.
- 45 clock hours in Childcare Administration training.
- 9 clock hours in Communication training
- Centers under 60 children = 400 hours of experience under supervision primarily with school age children or 1 year experience as a family provider with school age children.
- Centers over 60 children = 800 hours of experience under supervision primarily with school age children or 2 years experience as a family provider with school age children.
- Must complete continuing education units as specified by the OCC on an annual basis
Salary: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00
