The AARP Alabama State Office is seeking a talented, digitally savvy undergraduate intern to join its busy team to support AARP's fantastic volunteers. This is a paid internship, one that provides an excellent opportunity for the right student to apply academic training in a professional environment, to develop solid work experiences while learning about important issues that impact persons who are 50+.

Areas of Responsibility: 

The Volunteer Services Intern will assist with the following:

  • Develop and facilitate monthly volunteer meetings
  • Respond and facilitate volunteer support requests, as directed
  • Recruit volunteers for staffing of community based activities
  • Support volunteer recruitment and onboarding process including Volunteer Portal Training and ongoing support
  • Serve as a representative of AARP at community sponsored activities;
  • Coordinate select community-based AARP events/functions.
  • Develop and write volunteer stories for social media and website
Educational Background: 
Interns must be currently enrolled in a degreed program at an accredited college or university; maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0; and be considered undergraduate juniors or seniors.
