The Senior Manager of Prospect Research is responsible for conducting continuous research on prospective and active charitable donors to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at the major and planned giving levels. This includes providing the President/CEO, EVP/COO, SVP of Field Management and 5 – 7 Individual Giving Officers with summary and detailed briefings on the capacity and inclination of donor prospects to make a gift to the CF Foundation.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Provide essential research to promote the timely and strategic movement of previously identified prospects through the various cultivation stages, leading to solicitation.
- Participate in campaign strategy sessions as they relate to prospect development.
- Maintain and expand a prospect management and tracking system.
- Conduct and analyze prospect research on individuals, corporations and foundations using multiple methods, including Internet and subscription electronic sources, wealth screening tool (HEP data), as well as in-house files, documents and interviews with fundraising staff, field staff, and volunteers.
- Maintain and expand our library of prospect research tools, including books, periodicals, CD-ROMs, online databases and web sites for use by major gifts team.
- Create an ongoing strategic plan for the proactive discovery and movement of new prospects into the prospect development system.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree required.
Skills/Experience:
- Five to seven years of prospect research experience focused on prospect management and campaign strategy.
- In-depth knowledge of the various methods and tools to identify prospects, including Internet, databases, CD-ROMs, wealth screening tools and other outside screening tools.
- Must possess the ability to work within the highest ethical and confidentiality standards. Should be familiar with HIPAA practices and procedures.
