Early Stage Service Coordinator

Oversee management of Denver region Early Stage programs and provide support for statewide Early Stage constituent initiatives. Responsible for volunteer management of Denver region Early Stage programs and aiding statewide staff with management of Early Stage volunteers.  Serve as supportive staff for the Rapid Referral program, Helpline, and Physician Outreach, including recruitment of Early Stage constituents for research initiatives.  

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Responsible for volunteer management of Denver region Early Stage programs and supportive staff for statewide Early Stage volunteer initiatives.
  • Coordinate Early Stage engagement, education, and quarterly support group programs facilitated by volunteers for persons with dementia and their families
  • Promote fundraising efforts for Early Stage volunteers, community partners, and constituents including coordination of an Early Stage team for the Walk to End Alzheimer's.
  • Aid in recruitment of persons with Early Stage dementia and their family members in Alzheimer's Association advocacy efforts.
  • Serve as the primary contact and resource for constituents with dementia in the Early Stages including initial and follow up contacts.
  • Support persons with dementia or individuals who are concerned about symptoms of dementia by providing information and regular communication about Early Stage services and programs.
  • Coordinate all Denver region activities related to Early Stage constituents.
  • Maintain updated and high-quality Early Stage program files and resource materials.
  • Assess current systems for the delivery of Early Stage programs and develop new systems for ongoing improvement of the efficiency and quality of programs.
  • Support the development of  Early Stage programs in building relationships with community partners such as: SPARK program participants, cultural, educational, and recreational organizations.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree in social work, public health, gerontology, psychology, or related field.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Two years of customer service or human services experience including successful development of community partnerships.
  • Proven cultural competency in working with diverse (multi-culturally, economically, and socially) populations.
  • Skilled in supportive interventions (active listening, use of empathy, emotional containment).
  • Strong learning agility with database management software; Proficiency with Google and Microsoft office applications.
  • Effective at multitasking and strong organizational skills.
  • Proven oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel for regional programs.
  • Evening and weekend work required.
  • Access to a reliable vehicle, valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. 

PREFERRED

  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Training and supervisory experience.
  • Experience in dementia care.
