Director of Outdoor Education

This position is directly responsible for the planning, administration, promotion, program development, staffing and budget for our Outdoor Education Department. The department oversees youth and teen adventure programs, challenge course programming, including our Adventures in Respect program and is responsibile for working with community partners to support existing and establish new intiatives. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Oversee the Outdoor Education department including the recruitment, training and retention of staff.
  • Responsible for budget preparation and administration
  • Direct oversight of Adventures in Respect progam, Summer Adventure Camp, Ropes course and vacation week programs. 
  • Ability to develop new programs, make decisions, obtain community support and funding and be comfortable working independently at times.
Educational Background: 
A Bachelor's degree preferably in a related field.
Skills/Experience: 
  • We are seeking 4 or more years experience with ropes courses and facilitating outdoor education programs.
  • Certified Ropes Course Specialist with Rescue training, prefer ACCT level 1 and above
  • This position requires the ability to build relationships with all ages including youth and teen participants, members and community partners.
  • This person needs to have current CPR and First Aid certifications and a Wilderness First Responder is preferred.
Compensation/Benefits: 

$42,000.00 - $48,000.00
