Develop, organize and implement standard operating procedures for all areas of Youth Development. Provide leadership and program development for Camp at our Doylestown and Warminster locations and Teen Programming in Doylestown.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Staff: Recruit, train, and consistently develop a staff team which exhibits a welcoming, positive, mature, and empathetic attitude; while displaying our living our cause culture.
- Environment: Establish a clean, safe, organized, welcoming environment that speaks to all parents and participants.
- Relationship Building: Through the use of Listen First, establish positive collaborations between staff to staff, staff to child, and ultimately member to member.
- Data: Continually compile and use survey results to close service area gaps such as standard operating procedures, parent tours, knowledge of staff during membership transactions, overall participant satisfaction, and retention.Lead Camp at the Y including Doylestown and Warminster Branches; including risk management compliance, and maintaining high-quality programming.
- Responsible for all camp administrative procedures including online registration, billing, collections, data entry, and reporting.
- Manage, direct and coordinate family activities through membership and the Adventure Guides program. Ensure high-quality programs and establish new program activities.
- Develop, manage and control budgets for areas of responsibility. Ensure program operates within budget and receivables are collected in a timely manner. Complete finance reports by the required deadline.
- Expand camp programs throughout the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase teen involvement in the Y mission, including membership, volunteerism, physical and social activity.
- Support 7th Grade Initiative including mission, budget support, programming hours, staffing, events, etc.
- Work in conjunction with the Marketing Department to produce and ensure high-quality marketing materials for Youth Development.
- Collaborate with Youth Development team to ensure overall budget accuracy and data integrity.
- Recruit, train and develop high-quality staff, ensuring ongoing feedback and support. Review and evaluate staff performance annually, but also consistently as needed.
- Host informative and effective staff meetings/workshops, secure an agenda which serves the needs of membership as well as organizational causes.
- Supervise Stay and Play Coordinator to ensure a member-focused staff team is created who are fully trained and educated to engage and support members, potential members, guests and fellow staff.
- Attend organizational meetings as required, included but not limited to Risk Management, Staff Stakeholders, Come Together Meetings.
- Models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions. Respond in a timely manner to requests, questions, concerns and/or complaints.
- Monitor, evaluate and compile program statistics for areas of responsibility.
- Ensure outreach to schools, local agencies, and recreation centers to expand the Y’s mission.
- Support organizational and membership retention initiatives with specific leadership to bullying prevention programs.
- Play a significant role in leading the Living Our Cause experience.
- Complete accident/incident report follow-up within 24 hours; submit to Branch Executive.
- Follow HR and Risk Management policies and procedures of the institution.
- Assure compliance with SEFA policies for volunteers and staff.
- Collaborate with Facilities Department to ensure a clean, safe environment.
- Assists in YMCA fundraising activities and special events.
- Generate required reports for Branch Executive and/or Administration.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field preferred.
Skills/Experience:
- One to two years related experience preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Three to five years of supervisory experience.
- Previous experience with nonprofit organizations preferred.
- Knowledge of research methods and a high degree of computer efficiency in Microsoft office products.
- YUSA Team Leader Certification preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 20lbs. Must be able to see and use a computer. This work requires the following physical activities; reaching, sitting, lifting finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity. The work is performed indoors and outdoors and may require occasional travel.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $50,000.00 - $56,000.00
