We are seeking a highly motivated, mission-driven, candidate to join our Finance and IT team. Under the direction of the Senior Software Specialist, this position will serve as a key leader in establishing and maintaining policy, procedures and consistency among all branches within our Association to maximize our utlization of the software system. The Software Specialist will develop and train others in unique high-level solutions to Association-wide organizational and management needs, in addition to management of data, processes, and reconciliations related to the system in place. Resolve the needs of system users to facilitate their work, including troubleshooting and training.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Independent resolution of business issues specifically related to operating software and information management.
  • Design, maintain and deliver training protocols for all Association staff relating to operating software.
  • Identify and implement software modifications and upgrades. Manage implementation and new modules and create corresponding documentation and training.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve all system related problems and issues.
  • Global communication of all new software procedures, including training and involvement of key stakeholders.
  • Create standardized training platforms for operating software users.
  • Lead training classes and one-on-one training for new hires and current staff to ensure accurage use of software modules.
  • Basic Crystal Report writing and maintenance, as used for a wide-range of Assoication needs.
  • Document Standard Operating Procedures for all software related functions.
  • Serve as Online Edge Support person, fielding calls from staff and members.
  • Provide data for marketing department through existing reports.
  • Upload fundraising data to Raisers Edge.
  • Schedule and automate Crystal Reports as needed.
  • Uploading data to third party portals.
  • Updating tracking reports for Membership Promos.
  • Participate in financial reporting analysis and reconciliation.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree in IT or equivalent experience.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Strong Math, project management or similar analytical work experience.
  • Experience with any YMCA operating software preferred.
  • Intermediate level training and skills in Crystal Reports or other data-based report writing software.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to relate to and communicate with users at all levels of the organization in an effective manner.
  • High-level of understanding of the complexities of relational databases and the intracacies of multi-dimensional functionality of operating software.
  • Project management skills, particularly in the area of identifying and engaging multiple stakeholders, assessing common needs, delivering relevant feedback and delivering projects on scope and on deadline.
  • Must be detail-oriented and have strong organizational skills.
  • Public Speaking experience and ability to communicate in various venues within and outside the Association.
