Develops, organizes and implements high quality, member-focused YMCA aquatic programs. Ensure a safe, positive and inclusive atmosphere that promotes participant safety and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies, practices and procedures.
Areas of Responsibility:
Aquatic Management:
- Oversee shift scheduling.
- Provide consistent supervision of all aquatic staff and ensures staff certifications are up to date.
- Incorporate a developmental training plan for staff that is inclusive, motivating and promotes Y goals and values.
- Set standards for job performance and completes performance reviews for all aquatic staff.
- Performs other duties assigned.
Programming:
- Develop and market a variety of programming to meet the needs of the community, ensure optimum usage of natatorium and encourage membership of all distinctions.
- Oversee the administration of daily pool operations.
- Set, evaluate and maintain quality standards of all aquatic programs.
- Monitor and evaluate program participation and effectiveness. Compile program and natatorium usage statistics.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationship with community organizations.
- Act as liaison between the Skagit Valley Family YMCA and the Chinooks’ Parent Club.
Fiscal Responsibilities:
- Develop and control annual budget for aquatic programming.
- Meet target requirements for revenue and control aquatic salaries and expenditures.
Pool Operation:
- Ensure safe operation of pool in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Maintain water chemistry and records according to state health department regulations.
- Perform and/or supervise maintenance schedule for pool.
Emergency Response:
- Provide Health and Safety training for all YMCA staff
- Review and revise, as required, all emergency procedures for Fulton Street Branch, including Activity Center, Bakerview and Camp Anderson.
- Maintain emergency equipment and supplies for Fulton Street Branch
- Maintain MSDS for Fulton Street Branch, including Activity Center, Bakerview and Camp Anderson.
Educational Background:
Post secondary education preferred.
Skills/Experience:
- Experience working with individuals, families and communities of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Minimum 2 years experience in aquatic management.
Required Certifications
- Current state approved certifications in Lifeguard Training, First Aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, O2, AED, and Blood Born Pathogens certifications.
- Must be a candidate for certified lifeguard training instructor and pool operator.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $32,000.00 - $38,000.00
