The Program Director organizes, plans, staffs and directs the programs and services of the Alzheimer's Association Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter.  This position is responsible to monitor and evaluate program activities to ensure best practices are utilized and strategic plans are fully executed in the community to achieve strategic plan goals.  They also provide leadership, supervision, and mentoring to the Southeastern Wisconsin staff and volunteers.

This position is located in our Milwaukee office with travel in the 11 county chapter service region.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Leads the chapter in establishing strategic initiatives, tactics and measures that move chapter toward 10-year vision of serving 80% of people with dementia.
  • Develops new, sustainable community partnerships that advance the chapter mission, expand program reach and increase program delivery as per Strategic Plan goals.
  • Builds strategic partnerships with community organizations, academic, public and private sector to advance the chapter mission and serve more clients across the territory.
  • Leads staff in engaging volunteers to increase the reach of care and support services through volunteer-empowered delivery.
  • Creates a moves management process to develop relationships into partnerships supporting the full Alzheimer's Association mission.
  • Secures grants and maintains relationships with key funders.
  • Oversees the development of a department plan to expand program reach with special attention to increasing participation among minority, high risk and underserved populations.
  • Provides leadership for the delivery of all programs and services including planning, budgeting, program evaluation and adherence to Association program standards and reporting processes.
  • Creates and manages departmental budget and provides leadership to assure grant outcomes are achieved.
  • Leads a high performance team of staff and volunteers to implement chapter's programs and services
  • Supervises outreach coordinators to expand service delivery in 11 county area especially among minority, high risk and underserved populations.
  • Cultivates and recruits supporters for chapter fundraising events like Walk to End Alzheimer's and Longest Day.  Generates leads for Development team.
  • Maintains reports for service statistics and grant-related paperwork.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Bachelor's degree required in public health or related field; experience with health systems and aging population desired.
  • 7+ years progressive experience with program delivery/development/management.
  • 5+ years experience managing staff & volunteers.
  • Demonstrated history of clinical services delivery, quality program evaluation, strong public speaking skills and an understanding of volunteer management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with, present to, and engage diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated success leading a high performing team to achieve strategic initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to seek opportunities for different and innovative approaches to addressing or solving problems and opportunities; facilitating the implementation and acceptance of change within the workplace.
  • Proven success building strong external & internal partnerships and increasing services to communities that have had low participation.
  • Excellent training and presentation skills including the ability to engage audiences with credibility.
  • Demonstrated success working with diverse populations, volunteers, and staff to build and maintain successful teams.
  • Superior ability to confidently communicate in person, print, and electronically to variable audiences.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects at once.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (especially Word & Excel) and Google; ability to learn constituent relationship management databases.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, diplomacy and initiative.
  • Ability and willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed for the job.
  • Ability and willingness to travel within the chapter's 11 county area by car.
  • Must possess valid driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle, and proof of insurance.
