The Senior Manager, YMCA Professional Network (YPN) is responsible for leading the continued evolution of the strategy and the ongoing implementation of the strategy.  This position will work closely with the VP, Talent Management, and the VP, Membership, to design and implement strategies and resources to support the volunteer structure of the YPN, which includes 4 regional representatives and more than 30 chapters. In addition, this position will provide direction and oversight to the production of learning experiences, professional development resources, training guides and chapter best practices. The Senior Manager will provide strategic direction and support for local and regional YPN events that promote professional development. In addition, the Senior Manager will work closely with M&P staff and regional Resource Directors, to develop and execute program and membership networks to spread innovation and integrate M&P objectives into the strategy and planning of related networks, alliances, and collaborations.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Devise and implement strategies, and support YPN chapters in implementing these strategies, to promote membership in YPN and ensure that YMCA professionals value YPN as being relevant and important part of their professional experience.
  • Develop and implement a suite of professional development resources specific to YPN members, and a continuous improvement/expansion process to ensure new and relevant experiences are added to the memberships offerings on an annual basis
  • Develop, implement and maintain a compelling communication and engagement strategy ensuring that all stakeholder from part-time staff up to and including CEOs recognize the benefits of being a part of YPN
  • Develop chapter resources and tools to ensure that volunteer leaders of chapters are successful
  • Defines and develops professional development and career development tools, resources and trainings; develops self-directed learner tools and processes to support staff development
  • Develop an operational plan which incorporates goals and objectives that work towards the strategic direction of the network
  • Works closely with the Senior Manager, Training Operations and LMS to develop and improve technical process for member management, event management and resource management
  • Work closely with the Senior Director, Knowledge Management, to ensure that chapters are effectively leveraging collaboration and social tools to enable peer to peer networking and innovation
  • Manages projects, project teams, budgets, and schedules to accomplish specified strategies. Coordinates and prioritizes resources to ensure completion of project(s) on time
  • Builds strong, collaborative relationships with all stakeholders
  • Supports and ensures local chapter fundraising goals for the Emergency  Assistant Fund (EAF)
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree is required. Master’s degree in Education, Technology or Leadership Development is preferred
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum 7-10 years of management experience within leadership development
  • Demonstrated competency in adult learning methodology is required
  • Must be customer focused, coupling strategic focus with strong execution skills and a results orientation; able to link to business challenges and objectives with tactical execution and results
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others in order to achieve objectives is required
  • Excellent attention to detail,analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent project management skills are required
  • Ability to work under pressure, meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines is required
  • Must possess the ability to adapt to changing environment and circumstances, and to guide others in support of change management
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with individuals across a broad range of groups
  • Requires a commitment to the YMCA character development values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility
Compensation/Benefits: 

$85,000.00 - $95,000.00
