Under the direction of the COO, the District Executive will be responsible for the performance and positioning of the Southeast District.  The two branch district has an operating budget of $1.5M with the breakdown of revenue as follows: $665K-Programs, $261K-Membership, $335K-Contributions/Special Events, and $173K-Government funding.  The McDonald Southeast branch currently serves 60 children in preschool, close to 340 children per day at 6 different school age child care locations, as well as 75 children per day in summer day camp locations.  The Southeast District raised $132,000 in the 2017 Annual Support Campaign with solid volunteer leadership.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Essential Functions

  • Coordinates the development of the branch board and committees.  Directs the volunteer activities of the branch.  Develops strategies to increase volunteer involvement at all levels of the branch including board development.
  • Represents and promotes the YMCA in the local community and develops positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities. Develops, maintains, and models collaborative relationships with community agencies in service delivery area.
  • Develops, manages, and monitors the branch operating budget and meet or exceeds budget targets.
  • Directs the financial development activities of the branch.
  • Fosters a climate of innovation to develop member-focused programs which support the Y mission, goals, and strategies.
  • Oversees the hiring, training, development and supervision of staff.
  • Directs branch strategic planning efforts and develops the annual operating plan of the branch.
  • Ensures the safety and maintenance of high quality facilities, grounds, and equipment.
  • Directs branch marketing and communication efforts to effectively communicate benefit to the community.
  • Serves as a member of Y management and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA.

Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in a related field required. YMCA Leadership certification desired within three years from date of hire.
Skills/Experience: 
  • 5+ years of senior management experience with a demonstrated successful track record with a budget accountability of $1M+. 
  • Strong communication, networking and collaboration skills. 
  • Ability to manage teams of staff and volunteers. 
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills, capable of working effectively with board members, staff members, volunteers, and donors/prospects. 
  • Ability to represent the YMCA in a mature and professional manner building strong relations with leaders in a wide variety of organizations in the community. 
  • Ability to connect and relate with diverse groups of people at all levels of the organization. 
  • Bilingual English/Spanish would be a plus.

Required Certifications

  • YMCA Leadership certification desired within three years from date of hire.
Compensation/Benefits: 

$85,000.00 - $95,000.00
