The Branch Executive Director is a key role within Florida’s First Coast YMCA with an opportunity to be innovative and make a difference by expanding the Y’s footprint within the community. This role provides an exciting opportunity to direct strategic planning efforts, play a leading role in a comprehensive branch campaign that includes capital, annual and endowment resource development, and develop the annual operating plans for the branch. It reports directly to the Vice President of Operations.
The Brooks YMCA Family Branch was donated to the Y by Brooks Health in 2008. It is a 60,000 square foot facility with a state-of-the-art strength and cardio equipment, free weights, five group exercise studios, a Pilates studio, locker rooms, a gymnasium, an indoor lap and a therapy pool, a KidZone, a massage therapy room, and an onsite Brooks Rehabilitation Center.
The Branch Executive Director, has primary responsibility for the leadership and management of the branch. Accountable for staff development, board development, fiscal management, and revenue generation including resource development. Growth and expansion of the major revenue drivers which include membership and programs. The Branch Executive Director will invest significant time in building and strengthening relationships in the community resulting in collaborations and ultimately greater impact in the community.
- Lead the operation in accordance with the policies, procedures and standards established by the YMCA of Florida’s First Coast and its Board of Directors with counsel and guidance from the Branch Advisory Council. Meet all standards for licensed and accredited programs.
- Manage the total operating budget of the branch, meeting agreed upon operating net. Create a culture of revenue generation and growth.
- Direct the resource development activities of the branch.
- Build a dynamic staff team which will include professional development plans for all team members, coaching, recognition and evaluation resulting in a high performing and cohesive staff team.
- Provide leadership and motivation to the Branch Advisory Board to ensure a highly functioning, engaged branch board focused on meeting community service needs. Ensure a strong and productive full Advisory Board by recruiting, training, evaluating, and recognizing volunteer leadership.
- Meet annual campaign goal each year. Explore resource development opportunities with the Branch Advisory Council and Association leadership.
- Collaborate with Youth Development Executive Director in recruiting youth for summer day camp.
- Execute Association strategies and develops new and innovative approaches to attract and retain members and program participants.
- Manage physical facilities to provide a clean and welcoming atmosphere. Prioritize capital maintenance to meet facilities long term needs.
- Collaborate with individuals, businesses, government, and not-for-profits to develop and increase capacity in providing programs to address community needs.
- With Branch Advisory Council’s support and guidance, process and implement branch strategic plan in coordination with the Association’s strategic plan.
- Through Living Our Cause, promote the YMCA Mission and serve more individuals and communities.
- Coordinate the development of the Branch Advisory Council and committees. Direct the volunteer activities (policy and program) of the branch.
- Represent and promote the YMCA in the local community and develop positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community agencies in service delivery area.
- Develop, manage, and monitor the branch operating budget and meet or exceeds budget targets.
- Direct strategic planning efforts and develop the annual operating plan of the branch.
- Ensure high levels of staff satisfaction as measured by SEER survey.
- Ensure the safety and maintenance of high quality facilities, grounds, and equipment.
- Serve as a member of YMCA management and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA.
- A proven record of successful leadership in the areas of staff development, budget management, membership development, program planning and innovation, facility/property management, resource development, strategic planning and community collaboration.
- YMCA Multi-Team or Branch Leader Certification desired.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
- A high level of professionalism is a must.
- Commitment to character development values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
- Ability to direct total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of branch.
- CPR and First Aid certifications required.
Salary: $72,000.00
