The Nature Conservancy seeks an experienced, data-driven, and creative Digital Marketing Manager to help implement advertising strategies that acquire new digital donors and leads, keeping a keen eye on opportunities to target high value prospects and retain members already in the pipeline.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • The Digital Marketing Manager is a member of TNC’s Digital Fundraising Department, reporting directly to the Associate Director of Digital Acquisition. S/He is responsible for supporting the Associate Director in implementing marketing strategies that help TNC acquire new digital donors, thinking especially about how best to target and cultivate qualified prospects.
  • The Digital Marketing Manager is an experienced and detail-oriented online fundraiser, has demonstrated the ability to utilize data and performance metrics to achieve results, and thinks quickly about how best to optimize current campaigns for highest impact. In coordination with the Associate Director, s/he will work closely with the Digital Fundraising team to maximize new donor revenue across multiple channels.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE

  • Assists the Associate Director of Digital Acquisition in executing strategies to acquire new digital donors
  • Helps set vision for and oversees TNC’s growth into new digital advertising platforms
  • Partners with TNC’s digital advertising vendors to optimize results for best performance, readily jumping into advertising tools to assess performance and make recommendations
  • Coordinates and produces digital and internal assets (such as landing pages, creative, audience lists, and ad copy) needed to launch marketing campaigns aimed at recruiting new donors
  • Is lead project manager in convening and managing key internal stakeholders needed to launch new initiatives and ensures that campaigns are set up for success from contract review to ad sourcing
  • Tracks campaign deliverables via status tracker and manages internal team members and vendor partners to deadlines to achieve on-time launch
  • Is responsible for providing regular advertising dashboard reporting and insights to key organization stakeholders
  • Partners closely with Digital Systems team and TNC’s digital vendors to understand and document pixel implementation and optimization processes, troubleshooting when necessary
  • Facilitates coordination between state-sponsored campaigns and national acquisition opportunities to help shape objectives that fit multiple TNC needs
  • Helps support advertising campaigns aimed at retaining TNC members and assists in helping define the value of an advertising touchpoint in a donor’s long-term relationship with TNC
  • Looks for opportunities to help TNC reach new audiences by more cost-efficient routes
  • Identifies, assembles and coordinates reporting requirements for tracking channel-by-channel results; helps analyze revenue and expense data to make recommendations for future growth
  • Partners with the Digital Acquisition Specialist in sharing learnings and best practices regarding new donor growth and lead generation and conversion
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in related field and a minimum 7 years’ related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
Skills/Experience: 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience cultivating and managing vendor relationships. 
  • Experience implementing, and managing multiple complex projects.
  • Experience negotiating agreements.
  • Experience writing, editing and proofreading.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong strategic instincts, including the ability to create and use data to guide decision making
  • Skilled in using Excel
  • Skilled in using Google AdWords, DoubleClick and Facebook advertising platforms
  • Ability to troubleshoot and QA web forms, pixels, source codes and related digital assets
  • Proven project management skills, including the ability to track and manage multiple deliverable deadlines, dependencies and status updates

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Multi-lingual skills appreciated.
  • Multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience preferred.
  • Experience managing a budget and robust set of KPIs
  • Nonprofit, electoral, and/or digital agency experience preferred
  • Ability to self-motivate, set objectives and manage complex team projects requiring input from multiple stakeholders
  • Media buying and trafficking experience preferred
  • Experience working with CMS/CRM technology
  • Experience working with Tealium, Google Tag Manager or other tag management systems
  • Basic HTML skills preferred
  • Strong knowledge of current and evolving trends in relevant marketing disciplines
  • Photoshop and/or graphic design experience a plus
